What does the job entail?

As a business claims coordinator, you and your team in Katwijk are responsible for business relationships. You provide operational leadership to the team and ensure that all resources are in place for the team to perform optimally in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships with a high level of customer satisfaction. You will also manage your own portfolio and be the first point of contact for insurance clients. Together with the field sales consultant you prepare the customer visits. You process the visit reports and prepare competitive quotations. Contacts with clients are made by phone, video call or office appointment.

Your challenges as a coordinator business non-life insurance are:

  • You are cooperative in your own team;
  • Managing, coaching and supervising the inside sales consultants;
  • Taking a leadership role in developing and defining the future vision for the department;
  • Managing and growing the portfolio;
  • Be a point of contact for existing and potential clients, insurers, colleagues and our internal claims department;
  • Advise relationships and provide underwriting information;
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and proactively pursuing them;
  • Creating appropriate and competitive quotations and actively following them up;
  • Processing new applications, policies, mutations and related financial processing.

  • A fixed-term employment contract with the prospect of permanent employment and a gross full-time salary between €3,013 and €5,020, depending on experience;
  • A personal choice budget (PKB), made up of various benefits including 8% vacation allowance. You can use the budget for various purposes;
  • Access to the Alpina Academy; our learning platform for training, courses and education including access to Lindenhaeghe (for obtaining Wft diplomas) and SkillsTown;
  • A work week of 32 to 40 hours;
  • Flexibility through hybrid working;
  • 25 vacation days (based on full-time employment), 5 of which are included in your personal choice budget (PKB);
  • Two additional days off per year that you may take on a day that is special to you;
  • A pension plan;
  • A travel allowance:
  • A travel allowance: Do you travel by car? Then you get €0.23 per km. Do you come walking or by bike? Then you get € 0,25 per km. Do you travel by public transport? Then your public transport costs (based on 2nd class travel) will be fully reimbursed;
  • A home office allowance (€2.15 per day) and a home office budget;
  • Staff discount on your insurance, mortgage, buying, selling and appraising your home.

You will work hybrid with Katwijk as your location. The business team in Katwijk is small and works closely with the business teams in Leiden and Westland. There is an informal working atmosphere with driven and committed colleagues. What we ask of you.

You possess a large dose of persuasiveness, are very customer-oriented, are well versed in administration and do not miss commercial opportunities. In addition:

  • Minimum hbo working and thinking level;
  • Are you in possession of the diploma Wft Schadeverzekeringen zakelijk and preferably Wft Inkomen;
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in the insurance market;
  • Experience in coaching and management skills;
  • A good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing;
  • Do you have good social skills and can work in a team as well as independently;
  • Do you show interest, ask lots of questions, listen attentively and are clear in your advice.

You possess the following characteristics and competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Customer- and result-oriented;
  • Commercial and driven;
  • Stress resistant and flexible;
  • Assertive and proactive;
  • Coaching leadership.
