What does the job entail?

As claims manager, you and your team in Wijchen, de Lier, Leusden and Doetinchem, among others, are responsible for achieving the objectives within your customer teams. You provide operational leadership to the team and ensure that all resources are in place for the team to perform optimally in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships with a high level of customer satisfaction.

Your challenges as claims handling manager are:

  • To encourage and coach employees in their functioning and development into professional employees;
  • Working with your team to maximize customer satisfaction;
  • Ensuring a future-proof vision for claims handling and claims and translating this;
  • Drive process improvement and ensure appropriate implementation of process improvements and changes;
  • Monitor your team's compliance with applicable claims handling laws and regulations.

  • A fixed-term employment contract with the prospect of permanent employment and a gross full-time salary between €2,640 and €6,302, depending on experience;
  • A personal choice budget (PKB), made up of various benefits including 8% vacation allowance. You can use the budget for various purposes;
  • Access to the Alpina Academy; our learning platform for training, courses and education including access to Lindenhaeghe (for obtaining Wft diplomas) and SkillsTown;
  • A work week of 32 to 40 hours;
  • Flexibility through hybrid working;
  • 25 vacation days (based on full-time employment), 5 of which are included in your personal choice budget (PKB);
  • Two additional days off per year that you may take on a day that is special to you;
  • A pension plan;
  • A travel allowance: Do you travel by car? Then you get €0.23 per km. Do you come walking or by bike? Then you get € 0,25 per km. Do you travel by public transport? Then your public transport costs (based on 2nd class travel) will be fully reimbursed;
  • A home office allowance (€2.15 per day) and a home office budget;
  • Staff discount on your insurance, mortgage, buying, selling and appraising your home.

What does the team look like?

You will work hybrid with Leusden as your location. Working from another location within our group is also a possibility. As claims manager you will lead a team of twenty employees. There is an informal working atmosphere with motivated and committed colleagues. What we ask of you.

You have a clear vision and organizational insight, effectively determine the goals and priorities of a team and know how to achieve them together. You know how to inspire, stimulate and facilitate your team members to contribute together to the common result. Additionally:

  • Minimum hbo working and thinking level;
  • Experience in coaching and management skills;
  • Do you hold the diploma Wft Basis and Wft Schadeverzekeringen particulier and Wft Schadeverzekeringen zakelijk;
  • Do you have two completed apprenticeships in non-life (Motor Insurance/Liability/Fire), equivalent training, Wft Volmacht A certificates General, Fire, Varia or similar diplomas/certificates;
  • Do you have good social skills and can work in a team as well as independently;
  • A good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing.

You possess the following characteristics and competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Enterprising and driven;
  • Critical and inquisitive;
  • Pragmatic and analytical;
  • Coaching leadership.
