What does the job entail?

As Practice Support Physician you are specialized in absence counseling, prevention and sustainable employability. You relieve the company doctor of as much (legally permitted) work as possible (working by delegation and under the final responsibility of the company doctor) and make consultations independently. This allows the company doctor to deal with the more complex, medical cases and prevention. You make sure that employees are helped with complaints in a low-threshold manner and help to prevent absenteeism. By order of the company doctor you will independently carry out social-medical work and you will be responsible for reporting. You work intensively with a number of company doctors.

Your challenges as a practice assistant occupational physician are:

  • Independently conduct (telephone) consultations and hold consultation hours as needed at the employer's location;
  • Structural consultation with the company physician on pending cases;
  • Advise on work opportunities and discuss them with the employee;
  • Extracting (medical) information and consulting with the company doctor when setting medical restrictions to determine taxability;
  • Identifying and naming medical and non-medical causes affecting the employee's reintegration;
  • Conducting a preventive consultation at the employee's request;
  • Careful handling of health data and recording of call details in a protected file.

  • A fixed-term employment contract with the prospect of permanent employment and a gross full-time salary between €3,250 and €5,000, depending on experience;
  • A personal choice budget (PKB), made up of various benefits including 8% vacation allowance. You can use the budget for various purposes;
  • Access to the Alpina Academy; our learning platform for training, courses and education including access to Lindenhaeghe (for obtaining Wft diplomas) and SkillsTown;
  • A work week of 24 to 40 hours;
  • Flexibility through hybrid working;
  • 25 vacation days (based on full-time employment), 5 of which are included in your personal choice budget (PKB);
  • Two additional days off per year that you may take on a day that is special to you;
  • A pension plan;
  • A travel allowance: Do you travel by car? Then you get €0.23 per km. Do you come walking or by bike? Then you get € 0,25 per km. Do you travel by public transport? Then your public transport costs (based on 2nd class travel) will be fully reimbursed;
  • A home office allowance (€2.15 per day) and a home office budget;
  • Staff discount on your insurance, mortgage, buying, selling and appraising your home.

What does the team look like?

You will work hybrid with Katwijk as your location. We are in the process of setting up a team of practice support staff for company doctors. We are in the start-up phase, but will build a close-knit and expert team that will support our company doctors in providing high quality care to employees. What we ask of you.

You are eager to contribute to the sustainable employability and vitality of employees. In addition:

  • At least a completed paramedic college education;
  • At least two years of experience in absence management and knowledge of WVP, WGA, ZW;
  • Completed (almost) the Practical Occupational Physician (POB) training program;
  • Is a BIG registration an advantage;
  • Do you have good social skills and can work in a team as well as independently;
  • A good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing.

You possess the following characteristics and competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Customer-oriented and service-oriented;
  • Problem solving and stress resistant;
  • Careful and discreet.
