What does the job entail?

As an underwriting specialist, you will deal with the underwriting of private non-life insurance and the transfer of provincial portfolios to the proxy. You fulfill the role of subject matter specialist and, among other things, make customized proposals for VIP clients. You are responsible for independently assessing, quoting and accepting risks of various private non-life insurances. These risks are offered by various insurance agencies. You maintain contacts with these insurance agencies and ensure that they are served with an appropriate and competitive offer. You not only play a role in the underwriting process, but also in the quotation phase in which optimal information and communication play an important role. You will also actively follow up on the offer you make, respond to customer needs and identify commercial opportunities. Then you draw up the policies and implement changes.

If you do not yet fully meet the profile, entry at the underwriting associate level is also possible, with potential for advancement to underwriter.

Your challenges as an underwriting specialist are:

• Independently assess and accept risks from various private insurance policies;
• Creating custom proposals for extensive collections of exclusive vehicles;
• Making proposals for capital villas and collections of art/costumes/collections;
• Processing changes in our systems;
• Maintaining contact, both by telephone and e-mail as well as visits to the office, with insurance intermediaries;
• Identifying commercial opportunities and following them up properly;
• Actively follow up on offers issued;
• Providing personal and good service;
• Preparation of policies;
• Taking initiative to improve product conditions.

• Staff discount on your insurance, mortgage, buying, selling and appraising your home.

You will work hybrid with Nieuwstadt as your location. You will work in a team of about twenty colleagues, including four underwriters. What we ask of you.

You are able to put the common interest above your own. You put customer needs first and can clarify facts, ideas or opinions to others. Additionally:

• At least a completed secondary vocational education (level 4);
• Are you in possession of the diploma Wft Basis, Wft Schadeverzekeringen particulier and Wft Schadeverzekeringen zakelijk or willing to obtain them at short notice;
• Is it an advantage if you hold an additional certificate from the Assurantie A course;
• Several years of work experience in a similar position is an advantage. If you are a starter, we also cordially invite you to apply;
• Affinity for administrative processes;
• Do you have good social skills and can work in a team as well as independently;
• A good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing.
