Nice to see that by working together we came to this wonderful result for charity.

Sjoerd Laarberg, CEO Alpina Group

It was already the 15th edition of the charity golf tournament that has its origins as the Voogd Open and took place in Bruinisse for many years. This year the Alpina Group Open took place centrally in the country for the first time. In Lieren, 54 participants in the competition and 17 participants in the clinic raised money for the talent program of the Prinses Maxima Center.
A total of €52,500 was raised for research into and treatment of childhood cancer.

Result
After the tournament, Sjoerd Laarberg, CEO of Alpina Group, presented the check to Prof. Dr. Max van Noesel, pediatric oncologist at the Prinses Máxima Center.

Sjoerd Laarberg: "It was great that we as Alpina Group could organize this event. Good to speak and meet each other in this sporting setting. But the best part is the wonderful final proceeds for the Princess Máxima Center. We greatly appreciate the fact that so many business associates were willing to participate with a team and play along for this good cause. Nice to see that by working together we came to this wonderful result."

Impact
Prof. Max van Noesel: "We are pleased and grateful that Alpina Group has supported us for so many years and is donating a wonderful amount again this year, played together at this tournament. We will spend this donation on a program aimed at fighting bone tumors. During the past Paralympic Games you see spectacular performances of athletes with blades. But it's not nothing when this is caused by a bone tumor at a young age. That has a big impact. With this multi-year program, we want to improve the treatment of bone tumors because it is badly needed!"

Results
The golf competition was played according to the principle of stableford; the handicap determines how many balls or strokes the participant gets, so that everyone has equal chances to win. The winner of the Alpina Group Open was: Folkert Pama of a.s.r.
